Join the work
Alumni, peers, partners, visitors, journalists. Four ways in.
If you took IPHS — last year or decades ago — we’d love to hear from you. Pre-register for the 50th, share what IPHS meant to you, send an update, nominate a classmate, or just stay in touch. See the ways to reconnect ↓
For humanists, ethicists, historians, and artists working in or moving toward AI. Short-term visits, semester-long residencies, or longer collaborations. Email us about a visit.
For colleges and universities building humanities-led AI programs. We share course design, reading lists, evaluation rubrics, and the lessons of a decade. Email us about consulting.
Faculty are available for keynotes, conference panels, podcast interviews, and policy briefings on humanistic AI, AI safety, and cultural heritage. Email us about speaking.
Fifty years of IPHS — alumni weekend
A weekend in Gambier marking 50 years of interdisciplinary humane studies. Open to alumni from every era. The same intellectual project, gathered across generations.
- ◆Two alumni panels. Voices across decades on what IPHS shaped, and where the work took you.
- ◆IPHS-only networking party. Reconnect with classmates and faculty — just our community, no formal program.
- ◆Mini-class: “IPHS in the 21st Century: Humane Studies and AI.” Taught by Kate Elkins and Jon Chun. The same intellectual project, applied to the technology of the moment.
Date, location, and registration link to come. Pre-register below and we’ll be in touch with details.
Six ways in — pick what feels right
Reconnecting doesn’t have to mean a long form or a big commitment. Choose the one that fits where you are. Each goes to a short Google Form — you can always do more later.
Low commitment. We’ll email you details as the celebration weekend takes shape.
A class, a professor, a conversation, a moment. We’d love to hear it — in any era.
Occasional updates on student work, faculty research, alumni news, and the 50th. Nothing more.
Where the work took you — career, projects, family, the unexpected. Helps us tell IPHS’s story across 50 years.
Roommates, classmates, that brilliant person from your section. Help us widen the circle.
Speak on a panel, mentor current students, host a regional gathering, help with the celebration. Tell us how you’d like to show up.
Submissions go to the IPHS director. Required fields are minimal — name, class year, email. Everything else is optional.
